Update Saints expected to hire Kellen Moore as head coach (76 Viewers)

If we are being honest, Perry’s value to SP has more to do with him having experience in our system and him being an available body that could potentially be ready to play in a pinch if needed than anything else.

This is obviously conjecture on my part, but I’d like to think that Pete Carmichael, who is on that Denver staff, may have even given SP the recommendation.

If I'm being honest, I sure trust CSP's talent evaluation re: a WR much more than the last guy we had....we will see what happens with Perry....

Rizzi has a leadership trait, it takes way more than that to be a winning head coach and to rebuild an organization. He’s perfect in a special teams coordinator role and we will never see him as a full time HC in the league.
id like to believe you, but your have no facts to bac up your opinion. Not saying its wrong, because that my opinion. Rizzi to me seemed OCD detailed. Like he'd be a nervous wreck until he knew his entire team was good. I also liked what was said that he's like a player during that game, really involved. Its the type of coach that if you win, he and the team would celebrate as one unit.

I think Rizzi could be really good as a HC, but sadly, I don’t think it would be here. He needs to go into a situation fresh, where he can pump in some enthusiasm, much like Campbell did in Detroit.

Since Rizzi has been here and spent time as interim - unfortunately he can’t come in fresh if given the job.

Early Sean Payton, yes. But older Sean Payton - TQS, Callaway, and all the other no-name WRs that did nothing? I don't think you can say that anymore. It seems like he got full of himself and thought he could find a Colston in the late rounds or as a UDFA, and he just never could. Shaheed and Olave are better than anybody that Payton brought in since Thomas.

Honestly, it was probably Brees making WR's look good. As his arm declined, we no longer had those diamond in the rough types turn into gems.

I'm still kinda mad at Payton, though. Drew would likely have had more rings if we weren't relying on receivers like TLL and Kirkwood to get us to the Super Bowl.

Well he must’ve fooled 100% of the Detroit fans as well.
Campbell is a likable guy, very blue collar, much like Detroit. He's just about as likable as Ed Ogeron and the circumstances are just about the same.

It wasn’t the WR’s that cost us more Super Bowls. It was the defense.

Yea I agree Dan Campbell had a ton of help, with draft picks especially, But I think his style is onto something. This debate will be solved this year, if he can keep the ship moving ahead having to hire new coordinators
With 20 top ,100 picks in the last 5 yrs and drafting well he doesn't need great coordinators. Campbell is a mediocre driver of a great race car

Probably slap me. I just think our front office has a tendency to underestimate our own talent and coaches. This seems like another one of those instances. And I’m tired of the Saints bleeding coaches to Sean Payton. Regardless, I know we’re moving on, but I just thought I’d say something for Rizzi.
Rizzi could someday soon be a good HC but he needs high level experience on either the offensive or defensive side of the ball, something if he really wanted to be a HC he should have gotten earlier in his career

Sure you don't want this guy?
