Hmmm. The Saints are 10-4. That’s actually tied for the second best record in all of the NFC. The offense is hitting its stride and the defense is keeping us in games for the most part. Everything is still on the table including a division title and of course a Two Dat repeat. So what gives? What’s making us think the 2010 season isn’t so hot?

I don't know - I thought that was a pretty good read. The analogy was spot on! Once you've sipped the champagne...

I think the article was very good. It wasn't negative in any way. Kinda Like saying 09 was winnig the powerball when it's 310 million compared to winning it when it's 45 million. Both times u win it's just that the 310 million will always mean a lot more

i agree

The article makes a reasonable point. In every other Saints season in history, we'd be very happy to be 10-4 and very likely to make the playoffs, even if we probably won't win the division. We're just frustrated because we know how truly amazing this team can be when it's firing on all cylinders and it hasn't quite done that yet. On the one hand, we should expect the best from this team because we know they're capable of winning a championship. But, it doesn't hurt to maintain some perspective when thinking about a tough road loss against quality opponent like the Ravens.

I thought that was a great article. Pretty funny.

He's right. 2009 was a rich supermodel rocket scientist who was freaky in the bedroom. You'll never top her. But 2010 is at least do-able, because we're on the verge of clinching the playoffs, and we're 10-4. I just hope she's hot enough to win the SuperBowl and make me finally let 2009 go!

I enjoyed the article and agree except for one thing. I cannot move on. I will always have my hot ex-lover's number in my cell phone. You know, for those times when I want to smile and shed a tear or two of joy.
Who Dat ?!!!

I thought that was a great article. He's not saying that you can't EVER look back at 2009 with fond memories, you just can't compare 2009 to RIGHT NOW. All the cards are still on the table and I'm confident either the Saints or someone else is going to knock off the Falcons and Saints will advance. Our playoff experience is going to make a difference in January.

2010 aint over until we are eliminated or win the SB again.
Right now, we can realistically finish 12-4. If not, then 11-5 with a playoff berth. Thats very respectable, and we did it almost entirely without a perfect game. Not a bad situation. Teams knew what we could do, and yet 10 of them have been unable to stop us. Thats siginificant. THe only loss that truly stings is the Arizona game. We had no business losing that one. Losing to the Falcons and Ravens, two top tier teams, is not awful. Losing to the Browns is unexpected, but they blew out the Patriots and embarrassed them too. Our defense is still playing well despite injuries, and our offense is clearly approaching 2009 levels. Theres still football to be played and theres still optimism in this camp.

This. :00000654:

FIFY: Separate paragraphs (instead of run-on) consecutive sentences ---makes it EASIER to read.

Otherwise, spot-on. :9:
