He would be an atrocious coach if he already decided to get rid of Carr as he would also be an atrocious coach if he already decided to hand him the keys to the castle.I agree people are looking bit far into the comment. But, I do think the fact that Moore did not just say "Yes, Derek Carr is our starting QB" means that there is at least some question in his mind if Carr will be the starting QB. That could be about whether Carr will take a pay cut, could be about whether they could actually cut him and field a competitive team, could be that he's not sure if he can find a better option, etc.
But, I do think it's fair to conclude that Moore and the front office think there is a decision to be made regarding whether Carr is the starting QB next year.
I would take him at face value and trust that the process is indeed extremely important to him and allow it to unfold however it unfolds.
The first thing you can be sure about is the tremendous fans on SR dont know squat when it comes down to it... the second thing you can be sure about is that the Saints media also doesnt know squat.
- Mickey Loomis is a horrible GM
- The New Orleans head coaching job is unattractive
- Derek Carr is awful
- We have to blow this thing up and start over
- We will draft an OLinemen (or some other must pick position)
- Player/Coach A, B, and C will follow Kellen Moore here
- He loves Kamara and Taysom but is dodging questions about Derek
Its all just bunk.
