Saints hire Grady Brown, Robert Blanton, and Jay Rodgers to defensive staff (14 Viewers)

Seems like the new focus is on position coaches that have done alot of teaching. I love it, to me it signals that we are looking towards a youth movement on the roster and want to ensure those guys develop.
Reminds of hiring Ryan Nielsen coming from NC State. He was virtually an unknown but he greatly improved our D line. Not sure what these young coaches can do. But will see.

I wouldn't call him unknown. He had produced some great players for ~4 years before we hired him. Think that DL with Chubb had 4/4 drafted. Maybe 3/4. Was a great hire.

Well unknown in the NFL circle. I mean I had to research and watched some you tube of him coaching his players. I was encouraged by his drills and teaching method.

Not to discredit anybody's opinion but give me a reason why you feel that way?

Better question is, can anyone point to what he’s done good in the last two years? He was fired from both of his last two positions because the OLBs under performed with Chargers and the Falcons DLine underperformed while he was DLine coach.

Someone may want to check, but I vaguely recall him not having any success unless he was directly under Fangio, and certainly didn’t have any with Atlanta nor the last time under Staley.

That's a lot of DB coaches that they have hired, but I like the idea behind it. Staley is a LB coach by trade and all reports are that his weaknesses have been in the secondary. I like hiring a bunch of DB coaches to make up for Staley's perceived deficiency in the defensive backfield.
