Saints hire Ted Rath as director of sports science, former Eagles director of sports performance (2 Viewers)

Very glad to hear the Saints are taking steps to get the guys better conditioned to avoid injuries as much as possible. The lack of conditioning under DA was telling by the tidal wave of injuries we suffered.

I also wonder if poor conditioning affected DAs record in close games and contributed to the defensive breakdowns late in games. Guys that are tired are more prone to mental mistakes and can't quite make the plays they could when they were at full strength.

Thank GOD. The insane amount of injuries has been maddening. Sure, there will always be injuries as it is part of the game….but what we’ve had to endure in recent years is beyond the typical number of injuries. It became damn near comical. Hopefully this guy can shake up the conditioning and wellness program.

I'm pretty sure I saw on reddit the eagles had 21 of 22 week 1 starters playing in the Superbowl. Obviously it doesn't mean it will necessarily translate to our team but I like that we're trying something different at least. I had high hopes for Rhea but it just didn't work out. This guy touched the golden boy so maybe some of his magic rubbed off on him

This guy has a really impressive resume. He was even part of the Eagles head coach hiring committee when they hired Sirianni.

ETA: It looks like he was out of the league last year, so he wasn't with Moore.

Not to put a dampener on this hire, but I wonder why the Eagles let him go in 2023?
