Saints mailbag: Three running backs on the field at same time this season? -- Underhill (1 Viewer)

Big difference between three running backs on the field at the same time and 3 running backs in the back field at the same time. You can have the traditional 2 back set with Cadet in the slot or out wide and have 3 backs on the field.
Not Cadet!

Goal Line - Ram, Peat, Unger, Warford, Streif, Ingram, Peterson, Kamra, Khun and Hooman. :9:
Swap Hooman for MT.
Start with Kamara in the backfield then swing him out on one side MT out wide the other side.
Keep those DBs guessing and out of the box.
If they don't double MT the man is open.
So many options.

This is the type of gold we have come to expect from Underhill:

"New Orleans put two players in the backfield for 56 passing plays last season. The team connected on 46 of those plays for 479 yards, including gains 65, 46 and 32 yards."

That is a SICK stat line. Over 82% completion percentage when they run a passing play with two running backs out of the backfield. I am going to guess that the 56 passing plays from last year out of this formation comes out to more like 156 such plays this year.
