Saints need to start fast to make playoffs (w/stats) (1 Viewer)

I wasn't trying to come off as negative with my post, I personally think we'll have a really good season. I just find it crazy that we've climbed back to 4-4 after 0-4/1-3 starts literally 4 times in Payton's era.

Nah it is good. Just reality. We all know that.

I think that is with any team (I assume) No inertia or desire after being beat 4 times in a row in the beginning.

That's been our history, no doubt. However, I like to watch what happens in December. Teams that win out in December are dangerous, in good health, and have the right attitude.

The 2011 Saints won their last 8 games and were still bounced in the divisional round. Their 2 NFC title game seasons both contained multiple losses in the final month. I used to buy into the "getting hot in time for the playoffs" thing myself........but outside of that 3-year stretch where the Packers, Giants and Ravens went on their wild card runs to win the SB......it typically hasnt panned out that way for the last 20-plus years. The fact that GB went 15-1 the following season would suggest that maybe they were just on the verge of being really good. And the Ravens had just been in the AFC title game the previous season. And the Giants just sorta weirdly repeated history from 4 years prior.
