Saints Not Headed To London For 1st Overseas Game (1 Viewer)

good. its a terrible idea... people in london "why are they using their hands" lol so jim rome says..

Horrible idea. I hate it.

"Schedules around bye for both teams"...........practice schedules before will be screwy. Jet-lag after will be horrible.

I just don't see the NFL ever reaching the level overseas that it is here.

All about the $$$.

Shouldnt it be the Giants losing a home game, since they had an extra one last season.

Stupidest idea ever. If I was a Miami fan I would be ******. Well, I would be ****** if I was a fan of either team, but particularly b/c they are losing a home game.

There was talk when this idea came out that the Saints might be one of the teams going. I am so glad we aren't one of those teams. We had enough extra travel last year.

This is all about the money--like the Super Bowl party problem--and I hope the Saints never have to go there, but I doubt that will happen. At least I hope the first time they have to go they don't lose a home game.

I mean, why not make the game a preseason game? That way nobody really cares that much.

I heard that on the radio tonight. I can't remember if it was 870WWL or ESPN radio but they also mentioned it looked like the Saints would be playing in the HOF game.

Yep, I heard that too which would mean 5 pre-season games if I remember correctly. The teams in the HOF game play an extra game. Also, they mentioned that it looked like a 9 game home schedule for this season (8 regular season and 1 pre-season) with one pre-season game probably in Jackson or Shreveport (somewhere to build on the region thing). That means season tickets will be one game more expensive this season.

Playing in London is going to take a toll on those players with the extended travel and time differences.

I think the flight to London from the East coast would not be a lot different than having to go to the West coast for an East coast team. It is a 5 hour time change and an 8 hour flight. It is the right thing to have NY and Miami do it if it is to be done. Both cities can afford to lose the toursim dollars of a home game but definately not New Orleans .

No Team should lose a home game if they have to do it. Let game be a away game for both teams. I know that sounds stupid but hopefully someone can word it better than I did.

From a selfish point of view I would have loved to have seen the Saints over here but realise that logistically it would be a nightmare and not good for the team.

We will have the Saints over here in season 2008/9 to show them rings off !!!!

Go Saints

What time will kickoff be? If it is the sunday night game (I can't see them doing this without it being one of the prime time games) they would have to kickoff at like 1 am.
