Saints Not Headed To London For 1st Overseas Game (1 Viewer)

According to Kenny W. the Saints will amost certainly be in the H.O.F. game next year... the 1st pre-season game of the year, and nationally televised. Camp starts early next year boys.

I think the flight to London from the East coast would not be a lot different than having to go to the West coast for an East coast team. It is a 5 hour time change and an 8 hour flight. It is the right thing to have NY and Miami do it if it is to be done. Both cities can afford to lose the toursim dollars of a home game but definately not New Orleans .

You're right that selecting teams from the east coast minimizes the impact but I still think it's going to be terrible. I've flown the Miami to London route 3 times and hate it. The flight time alone is like 10 1/2 hours. New York to London isn't as bad clocking in at around 7.5. But in the 25 or so times I've been to Europe I have always been trashed for a day or two by the time change. It's the losing 6 to 7 hours in time zones that you just can't adjust to that quickly. The coming back part was always easiest because your gaining hours.

Then what happens when teams from the mid-west have to go out there. It's just a logistical nightmare that really doesn't take the players into consideration. All about the green I imagine.

good. its a terrible idea... people in london "why are they using their hands" lol so jim rome says..

heh....dunno why they would think that, Rugby was invented in England back in the mid 1800's and it's the UK's #2 sport.

You could almost say the NFL is coming home ;)

Would the season tickets be reduced if we would have lost a home game?

I was hoping the Saints would be in the game, so I could make a vacation out it.

Hopefully with the announcement that from 2008 there will be 2 overseas games per season, Saints might play at Wembley (as the away team of course). :covri:

And if anyone ever questioned the support for the NFL over here...as of Friday members of nfluk.com could register their interest in tickets, so far there have been over 200,000 applications.
Wembley only holds 90,000. I think it's going to be a huge success.
