Brock Purdy literally Mr. Irrelevant 3rd string quarterback comes in and leads 49ers to a butt load of points because the reads are easier than the system tailor made for a genius quarterback Drew Brees. The nuances of the pre-snap and post -snap reads of the Payton system are far too complicated for the majority of the college qbs who the Saints will one day be drafting. I will no give Carmichael somewhat of a mulligan because he had to call plays for qbs who were not that genius level. Even Jameis said the Saints is a Harvard education for QBs. When we get the system that many QBs can run , points will be more plentiful because players will be far more comfortable!

Our offense is 15 years old. We don’t use motion or scheme people open. The only thing we do is “mass subs” which worked for Sean because it was new and fresh. But now when we sub certain players in and it’s a dead give away.

Example:
When Smith comes in with Adam it’s a run.

I can't remember the exact stat but we had the least amount of pre-snap movement of any team in the NFL. We ran what 5 screens all season until like the 2nd to last game of the season. We target our guys weakness in the most important moments like throwing a contested catch to Taysom Hill who had 40 career catches, or designing a pass play in a critical situation to a practice squad RB.

The scheme isn't too complicated, it's just not good.

Add on to that players are no longer mismatch nightmares especially in our division where 3 adjusted. Like Reggie on linebackers. Now all 3 division foes always have speedy linebackers. Kuechley, Davis for panthers, Jones for atlata, White, David for buccs. I feel that's another reason for stalenss last few years cant pick up those cheap 1st downs

This is where DA needs to use his DC chops to see why our offense doesn’t work.

Self-scout. Watch tape of every one of our offensive games and see just how easy we were to defend.

Then fix it. Figure out what is hard to defend as a DC and go find a QB and OC who will execute it.
