Can someone explain this 9 mill in void monies a bit better?

We signed him to a 1 year deal worth $13m. Then added void years to the contract and gave him $11.3m in a prorated contract bonus. This made it to where his cap hit last year was only like $3 but we still paid the full contract and would have had the $9m dead cap hit this year.

I really don’t think he’s reached his ceiling yet with us, I think this could work out well maybe boost his confidence that a team believes in him for an extended time and with the new system who knows, maybe it will rejuvenate him.

Youre hoping that a low effort guy, and a #2 overall pick, on his 3rd team in 5 seasons reaches his ceiling if we throw 50 million at him? You can’t buy heart and effort.

Adebo wasn't going to stick around. He wanted to be on a big market team, even if it meant going to an inarguably worse and worse-run team.

Why? they restructured Carr…they are in it to win it ….fans are hypnotized thinking the Saints are rebuilding….even NOF is in denial. Kellen Moore is probably the best coach in the league, on figuring out how to win in multiple scenarios, it’s why he’s considered great. Why would Mickey say, I know you can find a way with this team, but we’re tanking for two years, to appease the fans?

Measurables yes, but I’ve said it before, there is something with this dude that doesn’t allow him to reach his destination. I’ve seen guys who were not freaks of nature, not so good measurables, not much by the way of techniques, but they had hustle and a desire, that allowed them to reach their peak. Why can’t this freak of nature reach his? You can’t teach heart and desire. Either you have it or you don’t. Give me the Granderson type guys who works their butt off for a shot

Not a fan of the signing. Not because of his effort. (I get that he has some low effort film out there. But I think it's overstated from what I saw last year. And I respect how hard he worked to be ready for training camp last year when people thought he might miss the start of the season.) I don't like it because of the production.
