Weaver interviewed for the Falcons and Commanders' HC jobs last offseason. The Bears have also sought permission to interview Weaver this cycle.

Weaver has mostly been a defensive coach throughout his career, but he had an interesting wrinkle during his time with the Ravens -- he was simultaneously their defensive-line coach and their offensive run-game coordinator for the 2021 season.

Yep. Also worth mentioning that even the offensive candidates that have been requested so far had 3-4 defenses on the other side of them.

I honestly think the Rooney rule has run it's course. Minority coaches are hired every single year and I think the thick headed idea of the past that minority coaches (and QB's) are inferior has been put to bed. Maybe I'm wrong, but I find it insulting to good coaches that get interviews to be automatically be referred to as Rooney rule interviews.
