Saints to interview Giants OC Mike Kafka [Interview scheduled for Thursday January 9th] (6 Viewers)

You folks don't realize the potential value of having the NFL's marketing rights in the Czech Republic.

I know nothing about Kafka (the coach, and only a little more about the writer). He may be a heck of an offensive coach, but does he have the traits of a successful head coach in the NFL? I have no idea. But if we do hire him, the jokes will flow for as long as he is the coach and the team struggles.

Note no talk of interviews with Vrabel or Ben Johnson. We may end up getting a good coach, but the national perception is that the Saints job is near the bottom of the list in attractiveness.
Having some of those hottt Czech women in the stands wouldn’t be a bad thing😍😍😍

Meh…. Having Mahommes QB coach on your resume is like having Randy Moss Catching Coach on your resume.

When speaking with reporters at Super Bowl LVII Media Day (two years ago - db), Mahomes gave a glowing endorsement for Kafka:

"Coach Kafka is a special person and a special coach. He kind of took me [under his wing], when he first got here he was quality control and that was my first year as a rookie. I spent a lot of hours with coach Kafka where he was teaching me the playbook and teaching me how to become a quarterback in the NFL. That continued for a long time," Mahomes said.

"I knew when he left here, he was going to be a head coach somewhere soon. I know he's down there in Arizona and if he gets hired there, he'll get that place turned around. He's a great coach and a great person as well so I'm excited for him."

Brees was quite good in San Diego ... but he likely wasn't going to be the HOF Drew Brees had he stayed with the Chargers. It's a mistake to think a coach can't do anything for a star-caliber player.

The 3-14 Giants, no thanks.
He didn't call the plays this past season. Daboll took over the play calling this year. He called the plays in 22 and 23. 22 was Jones best season and a big reason why he got that big contract. In 23, Jones started horribly and ended up with a season ending injury. They went 5-6 with a combination of DeVito and Taylor and finished 6-11.

The Giants Skill players were horrid outside of Barkley. They did a terrible job of putting weapons around Jones. I don't know if he's good or not but I don't think any play caller would succeed there.

Underhill says they will likely interview Vrable. And Johnson has already said he won't take every interview offered. I would bet that he turned down the interview or let it be known that he would turn it down if offered. He's going to go to a team with a good young QB ready to make the jump.
