Saints Re-Sign Restricted Free Agent C Brian de la Puente

Disappointing that we did not sign him to a longer term deal than the one year tender. We will be dealing with a potential free agency issue next year.

What makes anyone think he won't get a long term deal. A tender only means he can now practice in the OTA's and get involved in workouts at the facility. I imagine they don't want him counting 2 mil against the cap this year. Same for Ivory.

Doesn't mean Loomis is done, just that DLP is ours, which - hooray! - good first step. It doesn't mean they aren't still working on a long term deal, which they probably will work out after the draft.
