First, it's not a hold out. Camp isn't for months and he is at the facility for rookie camp.

Second, this always happens with second round picks because while the amount of money is allocated, the amount of guaranteed money is not. So they have to negotiate over how much is guaranteed. So, those numbers get negotiated and they are often done based on the players above and below each player. So, it just takes some time to work out. But it's really nothing to worry about. There is plenty of time to get this done.

Those 2nd rounders are so tricky they just trickle in at the last moment due to greedy agents.

They are trying to protect their clients to get their clients more guaranteed money in case of injury. Everyone is greedy. You, me, players, agents, and owners. Everybody.
