The New Orleans Saints will look to get revenge against the Los Angeles Rams next season after the way the NFC Championship Game played out, but it looks like the teams won’t renew their hostilities to open the NFL’s centennial campaign.
The National Football League is looking to host a game between the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears to begin their 100th season, according to a report from Sports Business Journal.
Green Bay and Chicago have the league’s oldest rivalry, beginning in 1921, and have met in 197 regular season and postseason games.
This plan would be an exception to the league’s usual plan of having the defending Super Bowl champion begin the following regular season, and there were also reports that the Saints and Rams could play in the Kickoff Game, but both of those plans appear to be shelved.
