Texans just traded Cam Akres to the Vikings so they are not afraid of doing deals.
Who knows who else they could be shopping?

Do some of y'all just look at stats to determine if a player is any good?
Metchie was drafted 44th overall in the 2022 draft. Then 3 months later, he was diagnosed with Leukemia causing him to miss the 2022 season. He came back in 2023 to a backup roll with the emergence of Nico Collins and Tank Dell. This season they traded for Diggs pushing Metchie further down the depth chart. He had/has talent and there's more to the story then the lazy, he only has 17 career receptions, he must suck take.
Texans rookie John Metchie III diagnosed with leukemia, likely to miss 2022 season

Jimmy Graham was special and that was mainly due to contract negotiations. We dont have an asset like that on this roster. It is, but we've done it before. Max Unger for Jimmy G. comes to mind.
Wondering if more TE action was tied to less TE involvement in assisting the line with blocks since Rattler can move in the pocket and scramble..I'm interested in seeing more Bub Means. He's got above average hands, some shake off the LOS and size/weight/speed that fits the system. I'm also curious to see if we get back to some of our heavy personnel 12/21 considering that our TE's seemed to get more action w/ Rattler at QB. We'll potentially see some Kendre Miller too, some of those edge pitches he might have better speed to win on than Alvin/Williams
Likely right. Carr needs impeccable blocking to function at his best, Rattler doesn't and so it likely free'd the TE's up a bit, and he did a good job finding them.Wondering if more TE action was tied to less TE involvement in assisting the line with blocks since Rattler can move in the pocket and scramble..
Can he play DE, OL or LB? Otherwise, no thanksSo now that Davante Adams and Amari Cooper have been traded, there aren't many options remaining for the Saints to upgrade the position. One guy I think the Saints should consider is John Metchie from the Houston Texans. Some of you may not know who he is. He was a pretty good receiver when he was at Alabama not too long ago. The biggest reason why he isn't seeing the field now with the Texans is because they already have Nico Collins, Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell. No, I'm not sure if Metchie "fits" Kubiak's offense but at this point you need Wide Receivers with some skill.
Metchie is a stud. He would be any other NFL team's two receiver. The Texans are so loaded at WR that they don't need him yet. We were rumored to be in trade talks before the season started but DA decided that he was happy with our WR room. We dropped the ball on him. Houston will not trade him with Collins out.
He is a baller. Don't rely on stats. Remember that this is the same kid that had cancer or leukemia (i can't recall) and lost a season or so. We would be setting at WR for some time if we had traded for him. If...
Maybe they understand the need for depth at WR in a passing league and then draft very well. End up with great talent and depth. Saints might take up that philosophyIf he was that good they wouldn’t keep drafting, signing, and trading for guys to play ahead of him. They have five receivers with more targets, catches and yards than him this season. They don’t like him.

You might be right. I don't know for sure. They did pick up Diggs and draft Johnson from Ohio St. this past year. Maybe because they couldn't be sure that Leukemia didn't diminish his skills? Might be as simple as they don't like him. I do know that he was their camp and pre-season star and made some great plays. I also know that he would likely be our clear #3 if we had picked him up. We needed someone like him vs the Eagles and Falcons. I would have spent the 5th rounder to find out.If he was that good they wouldn’t keep drafting, signing, and trading for guys to play ahead of him.
