Saints sign WR Brandin Cooks to a 2-year, $13 million deal

I remember watching Cowboy games rooting for whoever played against them and thinking how cool it would be to have Cooks cooking in 'Nawlins again.
The man knows how to get open quickly, has good wheels and has good hands. Hopefully he can be what Lance Moore used to be for us back in the day. Shifty and good at finding those open pockets in a defense.

I like this signing because we can probably pick up a good starting LG in round 2. Can therefore take a BPA playmaker in rd 1 or Trade back for some extra draft picks and take a decent corner like Barron or Revel in middle of rd 1

He’s got very little left. The only issue is he still believes he’s a 1 or 2 (or so it seems by him being upset with not a bigger role in Dallas) and he’s a bottom end 3 at best. As long as he understands he’s a depth signing and number 3 type option at best, he will be fine.

He sure did not get paid like a 1 or a 2
I think he knows his worth and role

I can’t say that he was my choice as the draft pick that year. With that said, he had some memorable catches, helped us win some games, etc. and the draft pick we got for him from the trade got us Ramcheck. We could have been way worse off than being a part of his journey.

Now, where does he fit in with this offense? I think security for the speed threat based to Olave and Shaheed’s injury history.

I think what doesn't help also was that we were 7-9 all 3 years he was here.....he wasn't the problem for sure but I guess it just brings back bad memories of those teams.....

But my biggest objection to this move is his age and obvious declining production, maybe he finds a niche here, it's possible, but not probable.....
