Saints sniped (kind of) Giants for Kool Aid (1 Viewer)

Perhaps not tipping that he wanted Mahomes to Andy Reid. That would have been a really good start.
That just seems so unlike Sean. I’ve heard first hand accounts from reporters who got their arse chewed out by Sean for things they wrote. He was very conscious of what people were saying and didn’t want to ever help another team. To not hold himself to the same standard just seems off.

I remember him trying to hide the fact that he was at Mahommes pro day. Then when that came out it seemed like a big story.

Such a big loss for us. Not only because he's a great player but he could be asking the Chiefs for top dollar and he isn't. If he were Kirk Cousins or Dak Prescott he'd be trying to get 60mil/year instead of being happy sitting at 45 for a decade.

I'm suspecting that it didn't mean all that much, if he did.

Based on his record, I'd say Andy Reid can keep his own counsel on QB prospects and, additional to that, the stories told in this thread demonstrate clearly that there aren't that many secrets among teams about who covets who.

But those who want to grind axes over perceived character flaws and egregious mistakes can continue to do so as they see fit.
I love Payton. No axes to grind. I think that his arrogance killed us regarding Mahomes and bountygate. But it was worth it for the success we had. Oh, and he screwed up the Delvin Breaux situation bad. That was honestly his biggest error.

Maybe after losing Mahomes he got a lot more hard with coaches and reporters.

I think Ried probably already knew about Mahomes. He is one of the smartest coaches. He got PM instead of playing it safe with Smith getting a weapon for him.

Maybe, but Sean was difficult from day 1 on the job. He actually got easier to deal with (for media folks) as time passed. Probably because he had them “trained” at that point.

As I've said, it seems fairly evident that Andy Reid was not creeping around, looking for tips on who to draft.
