Saints to have second “easiest” strength of schedule going into 2025 (2 Viewers)

Bolded is pretty much the mathematically-related reason for our position on the chart.
Well, don’t underestimate the advantage gained by Carolina sneaking past us for third in the division. We are still bad, but if the right people get healthy and the draft goes well, it’s a good schedule.

I know, I know, “What good has that done.” Just reporting the news.

If you have to rely on a bottom feeder schedule to succeed, then you won't be good enough to prevail when you have to face the apex teams come playoff time.

Most of the NFC is playing non-apex team schedules outside of maybe the NFC North. We do get Buffalo, SF, and our bugaboo, the Rams, to test our mettle against.

At the end of the day though, the goal is to get into the postseason and hope you’re healthy and hot going in, and the “soft schedule,” for lack of better term, gives you the best chance at superior seeing IF you are already a good team.

If you’re not a good team to begin with, it really doesn’t matter if you’ve been tested or not, your fraud status will be exposed in the regular season.

At the end of the day, you are what your record says you are.

No one remembers this, but our 2009 schedule wasn’t exactly murderers row.

Just get me into the casino party, and I’ll roll the dice and test my luck.

Luck always plays a part, but the harder you work, the luckier you get.

History is littered with coasters who rode their luck until it ran out, and ended up with nothing.
