Agreed. Also having a QB on a rookie deal is when you can afford to get aggressive with your cap/roster.

I'm not sold on the Commanders yet. They have definitely improved, but its a bit early for them to trade away multiple draft picks to go all in this year. This is the first Saints trade I have felt good about in a long time.

I scrolled through the last ten years drafts to prove you wrong. And I did see a handful of good 3rd and 4th round picks. But I was also amazed at how many of those names never made a roster. Maybe luck does have something to do with it.

6 picks in the first 4 rounds should get you contributors.

you can take those 3 and move up to a late second rounder if they want, but id rather pick players they need alot of youth.

If injured Lattimore is a 3rd round draft value then all we get is a 6th for him…in essence. Washington has to be pretty happy about this low risk trade.

Does it hurt? It doesn’t bother me. The Saints are going nowhere for the next 2 years, Lattimore is going to a better place. I’m rooting for the Commanders because I love Jayden Daniels anyway, just more to root for.

As for the Saints, they get much needed cap relief and more picks.

Both teams win here. That’s rare.

Do we really get cap relief? Either way the trade makes sense for us.
