Saints Training Camp Updates- Day 3, July 26th (1 Viewer)

That’s fair. I guess for me, until that 7 win floor we’ve established over almost two decades now gets broken, mind-numbingly average is our worst.

I know, that’ll get broken at some point, but I don’t see it happening just yet.
I fully expect us to win at least 4 division games. Just need to win 6 (hopefully 7) of the other 11 for improvement. Thats not an outlandish request. Although, I’d gladly take a 12-5 season.

If I had to bet on it, I have us at 10-7, close coin flip round 1 game…taken to the woodshed by SF or some other dominant team in round 2.

Would love to be wrong and see us be the surprise dominant team, obviously.

Yeah that’s why I said 4 and 6. 10 wins should be the floor. I would like to think that KK’s offense will be good enough for at least 1 more win over last year. I’m not too worried about the defense. In fact, I’m not worried at all about the defense.

Agreed…if we do become that dominant team I alluded to, it’ll be because we have quietly assembled an elite defense, and we just don’t know it yet. I think we have the tools to be special on that side of the ball if it all comes together.

Yup. Despite what some may say about the DLine, I’m beyond stoked about the LBs and mostly the secondary.

Something to read while waiting on camp reports.

How Dennis Allen rebuilt the culture and leadership on Saints offense

By Nick Underhill

We like to pinpoint defining moments as singular events: This is how everything was before, and this is how everything was after.

But that usually isn't how life works.

Most of the time, there is an accumulation of events that lead to a major change or decision. It isn't just one broken pipe that makes you move. It's a broken pipe and a failing air conditioner and a leaky roof. You can try to live with it, but at a certain point, something has to change.

So when Dennis Allen stood on the side of the field mulling a question about a tipping point after watching his new-look offense practice for the first time during training camp, he couldn't pinpoint a specific catalyst for change or the day or moment or game he knew he had to shake things up. He just knew that he needed to fix the issues to get better.

"I don't think there was one A-ha moment," Allen told NewOrleans.Football. "I think there's just a culmination."

Or with some bad luck, then we are bottom feeders. It goes both ways. Plus, being that, historically speaking, we are more snake bitten than graced by football gods, I wouldn’t expect the good luck. The key is to just go out there and win. Plain and simple. Never leave anything up to chance.
I guess the bright side of that is that we finally draft a QB high? Well, that or we trade it to the Eagles for a 2nd round pick in 2027.
