Saints Updates 9-18-18 (1 Viewer)

Well, you're not going to get any sorta pass rush when your DBs cant even cover for 2 seconds. That game was a bad overall defensive showing, but every single film review I've seen has shown that it started and ended with our corners and safeties.

From what I saw it ended with Ryan Fitzpatrick running for 12 yards on 3rd and 11. Whose fault was that?

Nothing about this week is going to look good in our favor. We opened up, at home, to 2 teams that were 5-27 last year and looked awful against them for the most part. While Atlanta has faced 2 playoff teams from last year including the SB champs and they've looked decent.

Only thing you can point to is health, as Atlanta is finally dealing with injuries and we are relatively healthy.

That being said, I don't think we are what weve been the past 2 weeks. This will be another one that comes down to some small mans foot.

Bonus: Clete Blakeman is in Detroit this week so we have that going for us. Walt Anderson is assigned to our game.

Tampa also just throttled the defending champs. I'm upset at the week 1 outcome, but it's loking like Tampa might just be a good team with Fitz under center

" I think we can win but we must establish a heavy run game and be balanced PERIOD or I think we" that's easier said than done

Well if you discount every team's best and worst games as annomallies, then both the saints and Falcons are tied for first place in all categories with every other team.

Probably the right way to look at the stats of the first two games. Just not enough data.

They had malcom jenkins and the eagles secondary chasing after their WRs all day just like against the Saints. Big passing plays.

We're gonna curb-stomp those ********.

This is not complicated.

Yes, they beat them soundly despite the final score. I think they were up 3 scores at one point.

Talked to a friend who's a big Eagles fan. It was a lower total score, but the same game as Saints/Bucs in principle.

Until somebody figures a way to cover Evans and DJax without leaving Howard to run wild... and as long as Fitz is throwing "magic" daggers... The Bucs are going to be hard to beat.

It will happen though.

Last season, after starting 0-2 against the Vikings and the Patriots, we stunned Carolina, shut out Miami, went through a bye week then won a wild game against the Lions. We started slow, endured a brutal rush of early games, then leveled out.

This feels like something similar. We should, for all intents and purposes, be 0-2. We're 1-1 because not even NOLA misery can surpass the Factory of Sadness that is Cleveland. If we can show the offense of Week 1 and the Defense of Week 2 (which actually did pretty well and only ended up giving plays after they had been out there for so long), we stand a solid chance of winning this game.

But if we showcase the same struggles we had these past two weeks, we're in for a long Sunday. 1-2 wouldn't be the end of our season, but if we don't get our act together soon then our season may be over very soon.

Time for Brees and Co. to show us what they're made of. Geux Saints.

The 2018 season gives a rat's arse about last year.

I am a soccer fan as well. And in soccer, we have a saying that goes something like “ form goes out the window when rivals meet”

Its the same here. Forget all the stats etc. this is a rivalry game.

Atl has homefield but we are healthier. I truly have no clue who is going to win, but I certainly hope its us!
