side note: not sure if anyone has an eye on the Chiefs-Chargers game, but there was just a play where the defender popped the WR early before the pass was there, almost identical to what happened in the 2018 NFC champ game.

And guess what? They threw the flag. SMH.

A few observations:

The defense can be full on elite if the offense can help them out with some rest AND getting Onyemata, Davenport and Kwon back.

Payton knows how to win. The saints are the only NFL team with 50+ wins since 2017 - 51. Next closest is the Chiefs at 49. To be 2 games clear of the 2nd team in wins shows that you figure out how to win. I believe we are now 10-2 without Brees the past 3 years. Some of those games were ugly, but 10-2 doesnt care about ugly.

The long term QB of this team, is either in college or on another team. Its hard to judge Winston with whatever it is we have at WR and TE and 2 starting OL missing time. Ultimately those are excuses every qb lives or dies with, but he just doesnt look the part. To be a HC and you 3 lowest passing yardage games are the 3 to open this season, it just doesnt equal confidence long term.

We have 1 reception by a TE in the last 2 games. TE is an absolute nightmare.

WR is the nightmare you have when you go back to sleep after you wake up after the TE nightmare.
