Saints went from dead last in the NFL in pre-snap motion last year to first this year after week 1 (1 Viewer)

It almost didn't matter what we did in terms of play action this week.

Carr with playaction: 7/9 for 58 yards and a TD
Carr w/o playaction: 12/14 for 142 yards and 2 TD

I'll be interested to see the motion splits, but we probably need a better opponent to get better data.

Shhhhh... Don't tell our team that we still suck. They might go into Dallas really believing that they are the better team and pull out a miracle.

Feels so good to have real optimism about this offense again.
What got me excited was simply using players at what they’re good at. You hear a lot of people say things like “putting players in a position to be successful”. That’s exactly what we saw yesterday. For example, Kamara is not a power back. Yes, he has some power, but his biggest strengths are speed and agility. He excels in space. That’s what we gave him yesterday, a lane to get in gear and then simply read his blocks. We didn’t just pound him into a stacked line repeatedly, hoping he’d break free.

I think those numbers show that we did a good job at keeping the defense off balance. We attacked the defense, instead of just taking what they gave us. That was one of the biggest complaints with Charmichael, he didn’t know how to attack a defense. There were games we should have won had our OC known how to call plays even just a little more aggressively. Such as that game in Green Bay.

I totally agree. Carmichael blew it that game. It was infuriating knowing we could have won the game. It cost us a sure playoff game in the end.

Everything looked right with the offense. Carr was efficient; looks magnificent. This is what we were asking for since Payton left. Nice downfield blocking on some of the shorter routes designed to get YAC. Not much you can complain about......would like to see less penalties. That could be an issue against stronger teams.

Will be interesting to see if this offense can keep clicking as the opponent's get tougher.

I'm curious (and apologize if this was already addressed elsewhere) about how many snaps had Hill and Kamara on the field together.
