If McCarthy is hired, realistically, how many seasons does he get?

3 years. contract for 5 but it he's not got them winning in 3 years we will be on to the next HC search.

McCarthy, if hired, will probably have way more control of things vs other hires. That was probably the hang up in Dallas, Jerry wouldn't give up more control of things.

The only concern I have about McCarthy is he's 61, how long is he gonna do this for? By the time the Saints are competitive, or out of the cap mess, he'll be 63, assuming everything the Saints brass does goes right. 2 year turnaround, assuming every move from now to then hits.

If we can keep the WRs healthy, draft a reliable backup RB, bolster the interior offensive line, and improve the run defense, things could turn around. That’s a LOT, but it can be done WITH A GOOD DRAFT. Replacing Carr can wait until there’s a viable alternative. Another poor draft would set things back for years,

What did they do that year. He's a good coach but I do think he's reached his ceiling. I think that's the direction Mick will go a nice safe choice, nothing special. Marty 2.0.
