3 years. contract for 5 but it he's not got them winning in 3 years we will be on to the next HC search. If McCarthy is hired, realistically, how many seasons does he get?
McCarthy, if hired, will probably have way more control of things vs other hires. That was probably the hang up in Dallas, Jerry wouldn't give up more control of things.3 years. contract for 5 but it he's not got them winning in 3 years we will be on to the next HC search.
It appears we might be putting the band back together from the 2002 Saints. Mike McCarthy (61) calling plays. Randy Mueller (63) and Mickey Loomis (68) in the front office.... exciting! The only concern I have about McCarthy is he's 61, how long is he gonna do this for? By the time the Saints are competitive, or out of the cap mess, he'll be 63, assuming everything the Saints brass does goes right. 2 year turnaround, assuming every move from now to then hits.
12-5 seasons are mediocre now?If Mccarthy is who we are going with, I really dislike the move. Just more mediocrity is where we are headed, imo.
The void years were a killer.Mickey kept extending him. No surprise there.
and who will be our DC?
What did they do that year. He's a good coach but I do think he's reached his ceiling. I think that's the direction Mick will go a nice safe choice, nothing special. Marty 2.0.12-5 seasons are mediocre now?

Zimmer if McCarthy can talk him out of retiring...and who will be our DC?
He is available - the XFL team he was coaching folded last year.
