A lot of talk lately about Jaxson Dart but I wanted to get a feel for the boards opinion on Jalen Milroe from Alabama in terms of being picked at say 40(ADP on nfldraftbuzz is around 47) so he’d be right in that range. He could possibly drop to 71 but that might be a bit risky.

The more I read about him and more I watch I am admittedly more intrigued and curious about him.

Draft scouting report is(per nfldraftbuzz):

  • Elite athleticism with explosive speed and agility, making him a constant threat as a runner and scrambler
  • Possesses a strong arm capable of making all NFL throws, with the ability to generate velocity from various platforms
  • Displays creativity and playmaking instincts when plays break down, keeping his eyes downfield
  • Shows flashes of advanced QB skills, using pump fakes and eye manipulation to move defenders
  • Tough competitor who embraces contact and isn't afraid to sacrifice his body for crucial gains
  • Demonstrates some serious poise under pressure, able to deliver in clutch situations. He was simply legendary in the Iron Bowl
  • Exhibits leadership qualities and resilience, bouncing back from early-season benching to lead team to CFP
  • Has experience in a pro-style offense, preparing him for NFL concepts and expectations

  • Significant accuracy issues in short and intermediate zones - routinely sails passes and struggles with touch on timing routes
  • Ball security concerns amplified by notably small hands (8 6/8 inches - 14th percentile), raising red flags for wet weather performance
  • Mental processing speed lags behind physical tools - evident in Senior Bowl where he struggled to quickly work through progressions
  • Inconsistent throwing mechanics lead to accuracy issues, particularly apparent during one-on-one drills at the Senior Bowl
  • Protection recognition needs significant work - took three sacks in limited Senior Bowl action due to poor pocket awareness
  • Will bail from clean pockets too early - defaults to athlete mode instead of staying disciplined and working through progressions

Do you guys think Moore would take a chance on him due to his physical attributes and fit in system?

He throws a beauty of a deep ball and we have guys who can take advantage already.

He’s a unique talent. I wouldn’t mind drafting him in the 3rd round, because even if he doesn’t turn out to be the next Jalen Hurts , we get a Taysom 2.0 at the right time.

Moore has to have grown accustomed to the tush push and some rpos that won’t be quite Carrs or Rattlers forte.

The upside is obviously he could turn out to be the franchise centerpiece.

I’ve taken him in the 4th round of all my mocks because of the value and possibility

Dude is the kind of player that will work to improve on his game. He already has weapons for legs and that already makes him dangerous. If he could become a viable passer, then the sky is the limit. I’d take him

I'm not sure I'd want him with any other OC/HC, but CKM just won a SB with Hurts who was very similar in college.

I want him. I think he will eventually be the best QB in this draft.

This is a brilliant opportunity to trade down and grab him with an early 2nd round pick, though some smart team may grab him in the 1st.

He could take over Taysom's role while he develops, or permanently if Rattler improves his pocket awareness.

I'm often wrong on these things, and could be wrong about Milroe too!

Okay, so Taysom's role while Carr is still QB, then transition to QB1 in a couple seasons?

Keep Rattler as QB2.
