NFL Draft Jalen Milroe’s QB development? [April 7: Saints worked out Jalen Milroe] .. [Milroe could be 3rd QB drafted over Dart per Jonathan Jones] (4 Viewers)

I've been an Alabama fan my entire life. My opinion of Melrose is not goid. He's not as high of a quality qb Alabama has had in the past. He was one of the reason we didn't do has good when he was starting qb. I hope the saints pass on him.

IF the Saints get Jeanty at 9, then I’d take a shot at grabbing Milroe with the next pick.

An offense built on read options, screens, designed QB runs, and (mostly) deep shot pass plays could work while Milroe develops his mid range game further.

Bully-ball with a few back-breakers thrown in each game.

He is literally Taysom, but with an NFL caliber arm.

Nothing like Taysom. Taysom bull dozed people and was seemingly never arm tackled. Milroe got arm tackled quite a bit and bounced off people rather then bull dozed. The added 25 or so lbs on Taysom is a big reason why.

Someone is going to take him in the 1st round if for no other reason than to have that 5th year option.

Who do you want to take a #9 that will be a building block for the front seven? I'm not really a fan of the value of any of the guys that would be available in the front seven at that spot outside of maybe Jalon Walker and I don't know if Staley has a spot for him in his scheme.

It seems likely that the best value/BPA at #9 is likely to either be a Warren, a CB, or an offensive Tackle.

I'd understand reaching for a QB they love at that spot, but I wouldn't get reaching for the likely options on the board in the front seven.

At this point I’d prefer Milroe to Sanders. I trust Moore with either. But the boom potential with Milroe seems worth taking a swing at
for him to boom, we'd have to have a Ravens type offense. Which wouldnt be a bad thing

I like that you bring up Hurts as a comp.

Something I noticed every time I watched the Eagles last season is that they don’t ask a whole lot of him in the passing game. A lot of quicks, 90 game stuff, one read zone options, lots of designed QB runs. It’s not the most complicated offense in the world it seems like.

I could definitely see Milroe being a good candidate to mimic Hurts. Probably a better Hurts comp than Shedeur TBH.
Draft Milroe and your team just added the wildcat to their scheme. If you draft Milroe you run the wildcat with him to get him reps. And if he develops the NFL arm, then you have your QB1. If not, then you always have the wildcat, which is great for redzone challenged teams.

Im really starting to come around on shough. Over the last few days I've watched a couple of his games (notre dame for example) and I'm kind of disappointed in myself missing this guy entirely this late in the process.

I think he just may be the 3rd best QB in this draft.

Jalen Milroe is trash. Im standing 10 toes down in a fire screaming that. Mickey Loomis deserves to get fired immediately if he is drafted here.

Now.....if you want him to be a Taysom Hill type player. We can talk.
