does the salary for suspended players count againts the cap?

For example, if Vilma is suspended for the entire year, does his cap number not count at all, or does is prorated bonus count but not his salary? Anybody know?

Also if, say, Will Smith, is suspended for 8 games, do we get half of his salary back against the cap?

The cap relates to the monies being paid to the players. We do save on those games that players miss due to suspension. If Vilma is suspended say 8 games, we would accrue savings of half his annual salary for this year.

So we save the cash, but salaries still count against the cap???
