Haven't seen a thread about this posted yet so here's my two cents:
The event was pretty well organized. I arrived about 1 hour and 15 minutes beforehand and the line was snaked through the aisles toward the rear of the store. A table and chairs were set up in the center aisle. I saw a lot of Brees jerseys, some Saints gear and a few Charger fans. Most of the people in line around me were locals. Most of the stuff I saw in line was brand new; I saw a couple of folks wearing older stuff.
Drew showed up around 5 mins after 2; there was some cheering but instead of going to the table to sit down it appeared that he did an interview with a local station. After about 5-10 mins he sat down and the line started moving.
They moved everyone through pretty quickly; they stuck to the rules about not signing anything but the book; no personalizations and no posed photos. I was able to talk to Drew for a minute when I got up there and he was signing my book before they tried to move us along.
Lots of folks stood off to the side to take pictures. Most people seemed happy with the event.
I'm glad that I went; it was worth the time and effort.
I'm just sorry that I didn't get to meet any of the folks from SD that are on this board.

I was also there, ErikH pretty much summed it up. Really glad I made it. Took a silver sharpie and Drew signed it on the cover. I saw him sign a few personal items. A guy in front of me I line went to Purdue with Brees and had him sign a picture of them taken in college. He also signed a football for a guy in a wheelchair that came down from Orange County. The crowd actually cheered when he signed the football for the guy.

I was there, too. Got there about an hour and a half before the signing. Really good to see the Who Dat Nation representing in Charger country. Drew must have relished in the irony of the whole thing--he smiled a lot when he came to the table. I made sure to let him know how much I appreciate his being such a good role model for my two boys (he loved seeing them in their jerseys.)

Ive gotten to approximately the halfway point of the book, shorty after Brees has begun the 2006 season.
So far, this has been an amazing book and it makes me think what weve experienced is nothing short of a lot of things coming together in a miraculous way. Im not sure if theres any better way to describe it. New Orleans was gifted a miracle. From Brees to Payton to the way things just worked out. God really does seem to have had a plan for that team and the city. Its the greatest Sports story ever told and probably will become a legend of some sort.

You must have been in line just a bit behind me; the guy in the wheelchair was two people behind me. When one of the club employees was walking through the line explaining the rules and the procedures he started complaining and two other employees and a photographer came over to talk to him. I didn't stick around after I got through the line so I didn't see what happened when he got through.
I DVR'd the Fox5 news last night; I still have to watch it to see if I made it on there.
Interestingly, there was no coverage of the event in the U-T this morning.

yeah I didn't go... feel kinda like a sellout. Sat out by the pool cooked n stuff, but I should of gotten off my lazy arse and went. We should set up a place for San Diego Who Dats to watch the game, I get sick of watching my saints with a bunch of CHARGERS@@@@ fans lol.
