Honestly, I didn't think so many would take the premise of the article so seriously. It's really pretty silly. Is this a one liner?

The thread was born ugly. Whilst it may be possible to get something interesting to grow from the most insipid mounds of festering poot, the chances in this case are so close to zero that they are not worthy of serious consideration.
The most plausible positive track would be a logical dissection of the quotes posted, but bearing in mind the quality of said quotes, nobody capable of doing the job is likely to think it worth the bother. The idea behind the post isn't a bad one, but it needed just a little bit more subtlety, a touch of finesse. The first line alone should be enough to put any discerning poster off, and, frankly, most non-discerning posters too.
Anyone considering a rational response will also be mindful of the typical flow of threads that begin in similar style. The image in my mind is of a few, a very few, delicate, exquisitely formed and finely structured snowflakes, glistening in a soft, warm light as they drift gently down ...
... into an endless raging inferno of rehashed rehashes, Limbaugh/Hannity one-liners and Colbert/Stewart ripostes. By a staggering coincidence, a similar image springs to mind when considering the chances of your request being heeded, though admittedly with an inferno of a different (and ecologically unsound) fuel.
Rather than indulge in what those fine Liverpool legends, Half Man Half Biscuit, once coined a 'drive-by shouting', I've settled for the above nonsense, which is certainly not a 'silly one-line response' - and rating the thread with the inevitable one cube.
I now return you to your regular posting schedule.
