Severe Weather 2025 (1 Viewer)

Severe will return Friday and Saturday. Both days have potential but a lot of details left to shake out.
Please keep us updated with your thoughts, if you have time. I'm assuming since you're commenting, this one is looking more significant than the one from last week?

I do think this one will be more significant but that isnt saying much as last week never really had the potential being advertised. Saturday is concerning over MS/AL but still a ways out so a lot can change. Friday is less of s concern but could still pose some problems over the mid south.

I just love how it looks like a kid squiggled on a map

Saturday is really looking impressive for tornadoes across the south. Friday night still has some potential as well but Saturday is really looking like a problem.

SE LA or more like "mid south " ( Jackson up thru Bham ) ?

Too soon to say. Environment will be primed into LA but capping may prevent development but still too far out for details at that scale to be resolved.

Here is the SPC outlook. While I am not a huge fan, I agree with them so far on this event.

More cuts today

The Trump administration is starting another round of job cuts — this one more than 1,000 — at the nation’s weather, ocean and fisheries agency, four people familiar with the matter tell The Associated Press.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on Tuesday began plans to lay off 10% of its current workforce, people inside and outside the agency said, with some of them requesting anonymity due to fear of retribution. The numbers were presented to NOAA employees and managers were asked to submit names of positions for layoffs to agency headquarters, which will then go to NOAA’s parent agency, the Department of Commerce, on Wednesday, the people said.

Still time for things to change but Saturday is looking really deadly. Model agreement is very high and the trends have all been to the up side.
