Shaq Leonard has been released

Cleared waivers, expected to take time since he's not playing this week and may sign with a practice squad to get acclimated per Schefter.

Correct, but he wants playing time. Who are we benching for him in our 2 LB sets we run? Personally I would kick Pete to the bench
More and more people are jumping on the Werner is average bandwagon. "Welcome aboard" I told yall his rookie year what he was. I going to get my RESPECT on here somehow.

You really are taking that Kwon Alexander bias thing to a while other level, aren't you?

The ship has sailed. Give it up.

Shaq Leonard has now cleared waivers. He is free to sign wherever he chooses to.

Jaylon Smith was also waived this week.

If the Saints have an interest in bringing in a LB either one of these are now available.

Well, my comment was in regards to some wanting to sign him. With us running 2 LBs, then someone would have to go to the bench. So for the sake of playing along, I wouldn’t bench DD, so odd man out would be Pete. It wasn’t a shot at Pete, I was just stating that I would have to choose him, out of the 3. However, we are not signing him, so this thread is moot

A LBer isn't helping this team. Nothing is.

BTW how long are we stuck with Carr, I definitely think DA is back next year

Don't be scared to agree with me or be different because your going to get the wrath of the board. I'm right so I don't fear anything.

All good bro.

Don't think that's the right way to look at it.

Saints have been terrible at blitzing their LB's this year and Werner has been a big reason for that. They have room for a 3rd LB in the rotation/packages and we know this from the way they used Kaden Ellis last year even after all 3 were healthy.

Yep:

Kaden Ellis had 78 tackles, 7 sacks and 10 QB hits last year.
Zach Baun has 16 tackles, 0 sacks and 0 QB hits through 10 games this year.

It's disappointing that Baun hasn't been able to flash the pass rush skills that he displayed at Wisconsin.

Baun has proven that he belongs solely on special teams.

IMO, Carr over these next 7 games is gonna have to have at least 15 more passing TD's and only 3-5 more INT with another 1800 yards to be worthy of his deal. That puts him at 4031 yards, 25TD and 7-9INT's by seasons end. I assume he's gonna be way under those numbers.

Baun's college pass rushing didn't come from the off the ball LB alignment he now plays in the NFL. It's no wonder it didn't translate.

IIRC not unlike how Leonard's (historic) NFL pass rushing success didn't come from the off the ball LB alignment the Saints would be deploying. But people expect it to translate?
