Should we really be worried about the Eagles? (2 Viewers)

Who knows. That’s why they play the games.

Optimist in me says saints will surprise ppl and pull a few upsets in the first 6 weeks.

Pessimist in me sees the schedule and says 1-5.

Guys guys guys… I don’t care what Hurts did 2 or 3 years ago, this team isn’t them and he is not that guy anymore, atleast not lately, there are some glaring mistakes he’s making now in the decision process and I don’t see his same ability to scramble with confidence.

Also, why would we compare our defence of years past to this year? We have incredible depth, our Dline depth is outstanding, we got absolute studs at Lb in Davis, Gay and Werner, and our secondary looks excellent with Lattimore being healthy.

Really think we are getting way too down on our own team here. Our defence could be very special this year.

But I didn’t say they should be, I’m speaking to how a good portion of this forum think we are destined for 1-5. So I’m saying we should stop worrying and being so pessimistic that we can only win 1 of the first 6 games.

And by the way, the Saints should respect every opponent but I don’t ever remember an instance even playing at my level where I was worried about who I was playing as opposed to focused on executing the plan and I’m sure at the pro level these guys have a plan in place they feel confident about.

I’ll start by saying that I have no set expectations for the year and recent history informs me the Saints will probably finish with 6 to 9 wins.

I like the emphasis on executing the plan. I have often heard that big moments come down to Jimmy’s and Joe’s versus X’s and O’s. Not a talent evaluator but it feels like the Cowboys, Eagles, Falcons, and Chiefs simply have more/better Jimmy’s and Joe’s.

However, love the optimism and hope for things to go well.

2-5 start is a very real possibility. 3-4 most likely will happen. Unless something disastrous happens this team hover around 500 this year. Maybe a couple lucky breaks finish 10-7

I’d be beyond excited at a 3-4 start this year as the schedule improves quite a bit after that! For me it is the offense that will tell us what kind of season we will have and that remains a question mark going into week one!

This is the NFL, you should be worried about every team because they can all beat you on any given day. Treat every game the same IMO

In regards to Philly:
They were victims of poor officiating. They were being held by Packers OLine all night and drew 1 holding penalty i believe. Ticky Tack stuff like the invisible block in the back, along with some of the PI calls.
They did well enough on offense, also played careless ball, but still put up a good number of points.
Their defense is
Their new center better get his stuff together.
They can still match up well with us. However, they are not the real threat in the NFC
