Since Dennis Allen won't do it. Sean Payton will... (1 Viewer)

Time to move on

Man, Sean looks happy. Everytime I see him he seems more positive and energetic... less tense.

He really had been ground down by 16 years as a HC... not to mention the 18 years as an assistant. Only seeing him now can I really appreciate just how worn out he looked.

I remember an article years ago on his routines and it broke down to an average of over 90 working hours a week from TC till the end of the season. Then a couple weeks of break, how long depended on the playoff run, before putting in around 50 hours a week average over the rest of the offseason.

Florio reported this,
Florio is a clown who speculates wildly and calls it reporting. He sometimes takes small threads of truth only tangently related to his "story" or more often uses rumors that have been making the rounds and then weaves his fantasy on top and sells it as reporting.

Anytime he cites unnamed sources they should be notated in the subscript as "from Imaginationland".

Unless he has named sources and direct quotes I ignore his musings... and even then it is more often than not that he takes what is said or known to make outlandish leaps in logic.

He is like the Ancient Aliens guy.

Florio is an lawyer turned tabloid journalist.

You are wrong. He was going to the cowboys years ago. Florio reported this, it was a done deal, we never knew, because of the Anthony Davis trade. If Davis didn't get traded sp would have left us then. And this year he was trying to go to dolphins with Brady but Flores blew it up with his lawsuit.

Even if he is the greatest we had he won 1 chip and got robbed out of a potential second. That's not goat stuff.

This sp thirst by our fans is super weak to me.
Are you suggesting that he wanted to be around his children more than he was loyal to us? Man. What a piece of crap he is!!

Zero loyalty. Anyone we draft or sign needs to just forget about their own lives and put the Saints first. If not, I’m done with them.

If you’re the saints coach, no kids allowed.

And his kids don’t live in Dallas anymore but he has a new wife and it’s possible he wants to make sure he spends some time with her so his relationship doesn’t go the way it did the first time. That’s completely selfish of him. How DARE he?!!?

Sean Payton is a grown man who has the right to make employment decisions that he feels is in the best interest of him & his family. We all know that he worked tirelessly to make the Saints among the top teams in the league. And he certainly wanted to accomplish more in the way of playoff & Super Bowl victories. I believe the vast majority here are forever grateful for the effort he put into helping to turn this franchise around.

The real problem now as I see it will be trying to stomach watching Sean working his magic with another team after he acknowledged the burnout he felt at doing the same job here. Obviously it will grate on some folks even more if he proves to be immediately successful with his new team while the Saints appear to be spiraling out of control.

I’m glad that Payton appears to be happy with his decision to take a break from coaching. But I will also admit that it will be hard to see him return to a head coaching job so quickly after his departure. But he likely will be wearing a new hat soon. (Which ultimately is actually better for us.) So we all better get used to it and hope that we can get our team back on track to help soften the blow.

That day is gonna be tough for a lot of Saints fans.

This. It was never a break up. It was always just a break. Come back to us.

I love SP but this ain't happening. It never does. He's gone man. He loves this organization but he wanted a small break and he wanted the excitement of building a new team. It's what managers do. It happens in the business world all the time. They create new businesses and or rebuild them then sell and move on. He was one of the longest tenured coaches. I'm just glad he left on his own terms and wasn't run out of town. Everyone should be thankful for that.
