I did not know Jason, but he is a friend of some friends, so if you can take a moment for him or maybe send a few dollars.
We are deeply saddened and heartbroken this morning to make this announcement:
Early this morning, Slidell Police Officer Jason Seals passed away as a result of an on-duty motorcycle accident.
On September 25th, Officer Seals was participating in a funeral escort on Highway 190W in Slidell. A vehicle unexpectedly pulled out in front of him, causing him to strike the vehicle.
Slidell Police Chief Randy Fandal says, “Jason was a model officer who was beloved by his family, his fellow officers, and the citizens of our community. We are broken, but we are focused on providing prayers and support to Jason’s family. He left behind a loving wife, three kids, and many others who loved him dearly. This is going to be a very difficult time for our Slidell Police family.”
The outpouring of support we have received from our citizens throughout this tragedy has been amazing. We ask that you continue to pray for Jason’s family and his fellow officers.
Funeral arrangements have not been discussed at this time. We will release more details about the services as they become available.
For those asking, an official GoFundMe has been established for Jason’s family and can be found at the following link: https://www.gofundme.com/officer-jason-seals-motorman117
