SNF Flex Scheduling (1 Viewer)

How about TLC
or even A&E would be a good fit since they just cancelled The Governor's Wife and need some filler programming.

You mean that wasn't filler in the first place? :covri:

NO-Carolina is shaping up like SF-Seattle, the game Fox protected. (The other protected game is Cinci-Indy.)

Refresher: Weeks 11-16, games may be flexed out. CBS & Fox may protect one game per week 5 out of those 6 weeks. (Both left week 12 unprotected since NBC already has Denver-New England.) Schedule changes are made 12 days in advance, as noted above. For week 17, no games are protected and the schedule can change 6 days before the game (i.e. right after week 16).

12 days notice is the minimum although it could be sooner on games that are flexed. Of course Fox has to be willing to give it up too I believe.

Thanks for the info.

This link gives a good explanation of flex scheduling scenarios. MorganWick.com - Ideas every day

According to this link it looks like the Panthers game is the suggested flex game that week. So does that mean we flex to the afternoon game or the night game? The scheduled SNF game that week is Falcons @ Packers.

So where can I find info on which network gets the national-audience late game that Sunday? Because the Panthers game is set for a noon kickoff -- if Fox already has the marquee 3:25 game that afternoon, maybe they'll be more likely to let NBC take Panthers @ Saints. They won't get as many eyeballs on the game if they have to compete with all the other early action.

Flex to the SNF game. FOX will not put Panthers@Saints against Seahawks@49ers.

There is an excellent overview here, see the legend at the bottom for specifics on protected games, double-headers, etc.

Right now, the Denver Mannings are in line to be flexed into every prime time game. The league wants the Mannings so bad, they are considering letting them play on Sunday night and Monday night, even though games on consecutive days is unheard of in the NFL. They're that good and popular!

Too bad for NBC and ESPN that the maximum amount of times a team can play in prime time is 6 per regular season.

I heard on NFL Sirius that the Denver, Kansas City game was flexed to the 3:30 slot for this week. They said the giants game would stay where it was at though. Not sure what it means or if it was true.

Just to clarify this a bit, the DEN-KC was moved to a later afternoon start, but it was not "flexed" per se. It was simply rescheduled, just as NE-HOU was moved from 3pm Central to noon Central. Flexing specifically refers to SNF.

As mentioned above, DEN-KC in week 13 is protected and may not be moved off of CBS.

From the schedule I see it looks like Denver and Kansas City play this Sunday night. Is that schedule wrong then? I say I heard the guy say flexed he may of been wrong but that was what he said. Is that link you gave us correct?

Sorry, I was referring to week 13 (DEN-KC rematch). The current SNF game that week is NYG-WAS.

Week 11 SNF was always DEN-KC.
Week 13 DEN-KC moved (not flexed) from noon to 3pm.
