Speculate: Path to the Super Bowl (2 Viewers)

Cowboys over GB and Saints over SF in the Divisional round. Saints over Cowboys in the Dome for the NFCCG.

The Cowboys have a good makeup for beating Green Bay:

An offense that can throw downfield as well as control the clock by running + a D-line that can pressure Rodgers while allowing the rest of the D to sit back in coverage.

Last time there was a thread like this, I recall someone on here making a statement saying..., "don't worry, we are about to be 6-2 and on our way"..... well, we lost the next weekend to the Rams to become 5-3, not 6-2. I hate these threads! I just can't help reading them. It's like watching a train wreck.

Mindless, speculative threads don't affect how the team plays week in and week out.

Playoff Positions:

(1) Packers
(2) 49ers
(3) Saints
(4) Giants
(5) Wildcard
(6) Wildcard

Saints beat Wildcard
Giants beat Wildcard

Saints beat 49ers
Giants beat Packers (with that patented "4-man pass rush" that nobody else seems to have, especially not us)

Saints beat Giants

I don't like the Giants against the Packers, because even though they pressure well with 4, their starting secondary is basically on the shelf, so they're running with back-up and young guys against that receiving corp? I don't see it. Even with a solid front 4, they're not sacking Rodgers enough to slow down that passing attack.

Anyway, I think any path for the Saints is going to be difficult. The playoffs are a different animal, and we may very well be on the road during WC weekend, or if we get that home game to that weekend, the the divisional round.

I'm not ready to concede anything to San Francisco other than the NFC West crown. I am only 95% ready to concede the #1 seed to Green Bay - I am very stubborn. :hihi:

I am still of the belief that when we play well, don't turn the ball over, tackle, score TDs in redzone, etc, then we're nearly unbeatable - at home or on the road. Unlike many fans, I don't hold the Saints past issues against them: their struggles in road playoff games, losing to "lesser" opponents, etc - it's the NFL, and it's hard to win - anywhere. I believe we can win on the road, in a/the Dome, in the heat or in the cold - just have to play well and limit mistakes.

I don't have a prediction right now, outside of us getting into the post-season. I think barring some serious injuries or mental collapse, we're getting in, just don't know where.

Gonna have to play 3 games and 2 on the road...don't see any other way around it

I don't either. Barring a string of injuries we will be the third seed or nothing. We blew our chance at #2 by losing to the Lambs.

Probably a long-shot, but ...

NFC Seeding:
1. Green Bay
2. San Francisco
3. New Orleans
4. NY Giants
5. Chicago
6. Atlanta

Atlanta (#6) at NO (#3)
Chicago (#5) at NYG (#4)

NO (#3) at SF (#2)
NYG (#4) at GB (#1)

NYG (#4) at NO (#3)

I do think we will get the number 2 seed. 49er lose to Pitt, Balt and split with Rams & Arizona. Final record 11-5. Saints finish 12-4.

1. GB
2. Saints
3. 49ers
4. Giants
5. Falcons
6. Detroit / Chicago whoever melts down less

WC Round:

Detroit beats 49ers (revenge of the handshake)
Giants beat Falcons

Divisional Round

GB beats Detroit
Saints beat Giants

NFC Championship Game

Saints beat GB

After all these years, we'll more than likely have our shot at San Fran in the playoffs! If we do end up with them, we HAVE to let the team know how much it would mean to us beating them...

Cowboys over GB and Saints over SF in the Divisional round. Saints over Cowboys in the Dome for the NFCCG.

This is a great scenario but let's pull for New York to do it and not Dallas. Only because I can't stand Dallas. New York's okay.

I don't know. That would be a monumental collapse to close the season. I guess it could happen.
