Airline industry has got to be one of the hardest for new entries. Boeing/Airbus prices, gate fees, pilot/flight attendant unions, ticket pricing, established competition, fuel costs and the software/hardware to coordinate scheduling etc etc - especially if you arent flying Transatlantic or Transpacific routes.

I don't know why anyone in their right mind gets into the airline business. Your competitors have been in business for decades, the graveyard of carriers who've gone under is quite extensive and there isn't room for a whole lot room for disruption/innovation.
 
Nordic just filed chapter 11 protection.

They try to get big enough to get bought/merged. Spirit almost got there.
