Target has found itself in a wee bit of trouble this week when a savvy customer stumbled across an odd discrepancy: a gray plus-size dress was listed as "Manatee Gray" while the same dress in regular sizes was called "Dark Heather Gray.".................

But, I can see why people are upset.

Why rename the color of the larger size at all?

I've had friends you worked in fashion and they've said that they take the description of colors, styles etc very seriously. Like all day meeting seriously.

According to the article, it wasn't renamed for the larger size. Supposedly, that particular color is called Manatee Gray throughout their line of products. However, it just so happened that two different teams worked on that dress and somehow didn't coordinate with each other. If true, that a completely separate problem with the company. But I still think people are way too sensitive.
