So by a medical miracle the QB knocked out of the game with rib /back/shoulder/concussion is running full sprints at practice and appears to be healthy. Assuming he passes protocol, he’ll start Sunday.

On the flip side of the boobirds, the player with no noticeable injury during the game (that I remember at least) is dealing with a foot and hand injury and everyone is mum on his availability this week.

All can say is…really?!

With the way this coaching staff has protected Derek Carr like the freakin Bubble Boy all season, I can’t help but wonder if this is just a ruse to try and make sure lil’ Derek isn’t boo’ed again every time he subs back in for Taysom. 🤷

I know… ridiculous… but then look at the current state of this team. 👀

For everyone pining for him to be the full time starter at QB, even playing part time, given his style of play, hard to stay healthy.....
Yeah yeah that’s what they all say

No way. DA wants to win. His job is on the line. He wants both of them out there.

There is too much hate on Carr right now. Does anyone remember this line that protects him? Who would not be a bit gunshy or miss open WR? We keep holding every quarterback to a once-in-a-generation talent (DB) and we are never going to be satisfied with the quarterback play.
You’re not wrong. Carr has played okay. The team around him has been okay. They just seem out of sync way too much.

The yelling at WRs, the attitude at the podium, the seeming lack of accountability…that’s hurt Carr more than his redzone numbers.

Ultimately I think we have a coaching issue, namely a leadership and accountability problem. I would love to see all these guys turn the corner and be what we thought they would be, but it’s gotten ugly quick.

It happens when a HC throws a player under the bus to protect another player when everyone knows good and damn well the protected player was in the wrong.

He lost the offense a loooooong time ago.

Allen is going to be who Allen is going to be, especially towards Carr. Hell, for all we know maybe he knows Derek's psyche a bit better than we do, and not publicly hanging him is/was the best way to go. Still, defensive head coaches never have the best relationships w/ QB's because they live on different sides of the ball. If there was going to be anyone reprimanding Carr/Holding him accountable it would be the OC..ie Pete.

If it was just Allen as far as leadership, the entire team would be collapsing with regards to morale. It's quite literally only the OFFENSIVE guys chirping. That's on Pete at the moment. Pete's like the substitute teacher for Sean, who's never coming back.

The O-Line is fine. Carr has a major habit of holding the ball too long all season. When he gets hit, the pressure isn’t even that bad. He’s stepping into sacks or allowing the rush time to break free from blocks as he stands there holding the ball. Some of it can be playcalling not calling slants or other routes that breaks quicker. A lot of times Carr isn’t processing reads fast enough and doesn’t have a quick release. Receivers are open a couple seconds after the snap and Carr’s standing there not trusting his eyes or unable to read them.

So what are you getting at? A dude isn’t out for the season and a guy had an injury that he felt the next day. What’s your take?

It's not apples to apples.

Right now, he's not playing QB. He's lining up at the QB/WR/TE positions and playing very physical football, as a ball carrier, blocker, and pass catcher. The guys who play even one of these positions on the regular get banged up all the time.

When he actually plays QB, he's done a good job staying healthy, minus a freak thumb-to-the-helmet injury (which he courageously played through) and a lisfranc, which can happen to anyone at any time.

Bruce Irvin would like to see if you could take that same hit bubble boy did.
