Taysom Hill did not practice and his availability for Sunday is in question (3 Viewers)

The O-Line is fine. Carr has a major habit of holding the ball too long all season. When he gets hit, the pressure isn’t even that bad. He’s stepping into sacks or allowing the rush time to break free from blocks as he stands there holding the ball. Some of it can be playcalling not calling slants or other routes that breaks quicker. A lot of times Carr isn’t processing reads fast enough and doesn’t have a quick release. Receivers are open a couple seconds after the snap and Carr’s standing there not trusting his eyes or unable to read them.
He was holding the ball too long earlier in the season, but doesn’t do that much anymore. He still does occasionally, and occasionally steps into sacks, but most sacks I’ve seen lately were due to bad blocking getting to him almost immediately. Not having a wall at LT has been our biggest problem. Had Penning worked out, our line would be much better, snd Carr would be doing much better.

Nope. He ran more deliberately while playing QB, he wasn't blocking defensive ends and linebackers, and he wasn't getting unprotected shots after catching passes. Quite different. Thumb injury happens more to pocket passers than mobile QB's. Lisfranc not likely to recur, and wasn't a contact injury.

With the exception of 2 games, TH had 10+ carries in every game he started at QB for the Saints......Exciting, fun to watch, short term success when he does? Sure.....Long term solution as a starter.....Nope, not even close, wouldn't last a season.....

There is too much hate on Carr right now. Does anyone remember this line that protects him? Who would not be a bit gunshy or miss open WR? We keep holding every quarterback to a once-in-a-generation talent (DB) and we are never going to be satisfied with the quarterback play.
I would agree with this, except we keep going up against rookie and backup quarterbacks, some who don’t even know the other players and playbook, clean our clocks while our veteran QB continually looks awful.

We needed average. We didn’t get it.

You really just don't know that, pure and simple, but QB's miss time. All of them.

No surprises. Throwing in Juwan Johnson’s name like he has any type of similar impact is tone deaf.

Carr is absolutely a horrible QB. He holds the ball WAY too long, making the line look worse than it is He doesn't posses the ability to throw his receivers open...it's almost like his pass completions either come from a guy finding an open hole in the zone and stopping, or fade passes. Then he pitches a fit when things go south, seldom owning responsibility. He isnt the only problem this team has, but he is one of the biggest problems the team has...with a big pricetag too.

i think some need to go looks at old Saints film like 1967 - to 2006 with the exception of a few years and see what bad and ineptness really looks like lol

and 2 more wins we will match 5 of Brees season records
No many remember very clearly. We know inept, we know bad teams. This year's Saints is that and we know it because of 1967-2006. Please leave Brees out of this debacle.

So by a medical miracle the QB knocked out of the game with rib /back/shoulder/concussion is running full sprints at practice and appears to be healthy. Assuming he passes protocol, he’ll start Sunday.

On the flip side of the boobirds, the player with no noticeable injury during the game (that I remember at least) is dealing with a foot and hand injury and everyone is mum on his availability this week.

All can say is…really?!
he always goes off like he's dying, then is back next week. Drew never played the DRAMA card

Bruce Irvin would like to see if you could take that same hit bubble boy did.
Not saying it doesnt hurt, but I dont know if Drew ever got carried off the field-3rd ime this year

It's not apples to apples.

Right now, he's not playing QB. He's lining up at the QB/WR/TE positions and playing very physical football, as a ball carrier, blocker, and pass catcher. The guys who play even one of these positions on the regular get banged up all the time.

When he actually plays QB, he's done a good job staying healthy, minus a freak thumb-to-the-helmet injury (which he courageously played through) and a lisfranc, which can happen to anyone at any time.
Taysom is a turn over machine playing QB1. Look it up. He has however, seen more tangible production under DA, playing the designated runner. Then he ever saw as QB1.
