He was holding the ball too long earlier in the season, but doesn’t do that much anymore. He still does occasionally, and occasionally steps into sacks, but most sacks I’ve seen lately were due to bad blocking getting to him almost immediately. Not having a wall at LT has been our biggest problem. Had Penning worked out, our line would be much better, snd Carr would be doing much better.The O-Line is fine. Carr has a major habit of holding the ball too long all season. When he gets hit, the pressure isn’t even that bad. He’s stepping into sacks or allowing the rush time to break free from blocks as he stands there holding the ball. Some of it can be playcalling not calling slants or other routes that breaks quicker. A lot of times Carr isn’t processing reads fast enough and doesn’t have a quick release. Receivers are open a couple seconds after the snap and Carr’s standing there not trusting his eyes or unable to read them.
