Taysom Hill-Saints Statistical Rankings To Date (2 Viewers)

I was able to dig it up. It's been done — once.

Charlie Trippi, who played for the Chicago Cardinals from 1947-55.

I'll be rooting for TH7 to be the first in almost 75 years. ⚜️
You beat me to it while I was researching and typing with my 2 left hands. lol (y)

Jim Thorpe, Charlie Trippi, George Connor, Dan Fortman, Concrete Charlie, Bill Hewitt, Alex Wojciechowicz, Bronko Nagurski to name a few.
You had to dig deep and go back many years. Are any of these players from the modern era?

All of those guys are in a football hall of fame. Shouldn't it tell you something that the only guys you argue are better multi purpose players than Hill are all in a football hall of fame?

He had less fumbles the less touches he had. Most of the fumbles were happening when used more. Proof is in the pudding my friend. That was also when he had his INT spike. More proof that as a starting QB, his negative stats outweighs the positive.

The period you have circled is when he had the hand injury (Dallas game) and could barely grip the ball. He had to play through it.

Yeah, the idea that anyone dislikes having Taysom on the team or that he doesn't get enough appreciation on this forum or that his supporters are some sort of quiet minority is absurd.
There is a subset of Jamies fans that always call for trading Taysom and claim he “vultures” touchdowns and that anybody could do what he has done. There are definitely people that dislike him being on the team.

I have sited several players that were far better multi-role NFL players than Taysom. Deion was decent but I dont think he was ever great on offense.

Meaning in the past.
Who do you think are better multi role players than Taysom?

Meaning in the present.
Jim Thorpe, Charlie Trippi, George Connor, Dan Fortman, Concrete Charlie, Bill Hewitt, Alex Wojciechowicz, Bronko Nagurski to name a few.
All of the players listed above are from the past, a long time ago, in a different era of football. Let's take a quick look at each one.

Jim Thorpe last played for the Chicago Cardinals in 1928, 98 years ago. He is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.

Charley Trippi last played in the NFL in 1955, 68 years ago. He was the closest in multi positional play to TH7. He played RB, QB, Safety, Punter, Returner. He is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.

George Connor, once dubbed "The Closest Thing To A Greek God Since Apollo", last played in the NFL in 1955, 68 years ago. He is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.

Dan Fortman last played in the NFL in 1943, 80 years ago. He is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.

"Concrete Charlie" Bednarik last played in the NFL in 1962, 61 years ago. He is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.

Bill Hewitt, one of the last players in the NFL to play without wearing a helmet, last played in 1943, 80 years ago. He is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame.

Alex Wojciechowicz,
last played in the NFL in 1950, 73 years ago. He is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame. He also received the honor of the "Order Of The Leather Helmet."

Bronislau "Bronco" Nagurski last played in the NFL in 1943, 80 years ago. He is a member of the NFL Hall of Fame. Of all of these players he was the closest in size and built to TH7, at 6' 2" 226 pounds.

The biggest common denominator of the 8 players above is that they are all Members of the NFL Hall of Fame.

The Average length of time since these 8 players have played in the NFL is 76 years ago.

There aren't any players currently playing in the NFL today that compare to TH7.

Kordell "Slash" Stewart, a native of Marrero, La. who last played in the NFL in 2005, 18 years ago, is the only modern era player that somewhat compares to TH7. He was closely built like Hill, measuring 6'1.5" and weighing 215 pounds. Stewart put up bigger numbers as a passer, he had similar overall numbers as a rusher, and as a receiver over an 11-year career. Taysom is only halfway through his 7th year.

Kordell Stewart is the Only player in NFL History to have at least 75 Touchdowns Passes, at least 35 Touchdowns Rushing, and at least 5 Touchdowns Receiving. He has not been inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame yet.

I havent made any comment to the contrary. In fact I have said Taysom is great.

Kordell Stewart will never be inducted into the HoF. Furthermore. as great as Taysom is as of yet he has not done nearly enough to be seriously considered as a HoF semifinalist.

But once he is retired for 5 years if you remember you can nominate him to the NFL HoF simply by writing the HoF committee. Ill be watching to see if you do.

Nope...Taysom is playing some serious old school ball. The only significant difference is that he only does it for less than 35% of the game.
