Just like how some NFL wild card teams occasionally make deep playoff runs or advance to the SB, it might be a bit rare but it can happen and it probably will happen, Bill. Any Given Saturday works just as much. Maybe not so much from a Boise St. or Arizona State but a future 9-3/10-2 USC, Michigan, or Miami-esque team in the future.I’m sure that every ‘9 thru 12’ playoff team (and their fan base) will believe that they are the exception and will be able to compete against these top teams on the road in Round 1. No doubt LSU will fit that scenario after a moderately good season in the future. So I understand why most fans will want to see more chances to get into the playoffs. But having one of these teams advance to Round 2 will be as rare as hen’s teeth.
Some argued Miami should've made it in but blew it when they lost to Syracuse.Curious who some of the critics think should have gotten in over Tennessee? Indiana played Ohio st. A little closer than the vols.
It’s the first year, I’m sure some tweeking will happen in the following years to hopefully make these first round games a little more competitive.
