I don't think this Tweet means he is gone. I suspect it's likely a reaction to the fanbase congratulating them on gutting it out this season even if they didn't make the playoffs. But, I do think he is likely gone because we have his replacement in Ram and he is probably going to command a deal that we can't afford.

Some team with tons under the cap will outbid the Saints. And honestly, if he could stay healthy, the Saints season would probably be continuing. So not worth it to outbid e.g., the JagWires or some such.

I hope they offer him a fair contract with a per game roster bonus. If he won't go for it then so be it and take the comp pick they get in 2023 instead.

We need the better player at LT. Ram is a natural LT and is getting paid like one. The only reason he's been at RT is because we had Armstead. Ram gives us stability at LT.

Pencil Hurst in at RT and maybe we draft an OT in the first or second round who beats him out. Hurst is not a long-term solution for us wherever we put him. I think he gets replaced this year or next.

If the NFL were the real world, TA would owe the Saints a lot of time because of all the sick days he took. He owes us about an entire season of games!

I don’t think any fans have a clue about whether the Saints are resigning Armstead. And I doubt Ram would be moved to LT.

Armstead staying in NO is mostly on him. Knowing his age and injury history it’s on him to set a reasonable price for his services. If he still wants Top LT money then he’s definitely gone.
