Yeah, it's easy for fans to just wanna see this game behind us and start the preparation for the regular season.
But for the players who are wanting to give a legitimate performance that could get their names written on the list of 53, this is what makes Game 3 special to all the 'bubble' players around the league. Even a guy who becomes among the last to be cut could find themselves called in by some team who is desperate to fill a spot, even if it is only to add some quality depth.

It's a tough business. But as you said it is a dream that most of these kids have been holding onto since their first Pop Warner game. Tonight could be their last chance to shine.

It's game day, I like to be happy, not all teary-eyed. Next year, do this on cut-down day when I'm already sad.

Seriously though, I hate to see any player get cut. I've had my own dreams dashed a time or 2, so I have some inkling of what it's like. They have my sincere sympathy and empathy... Tuesday.

It's no longer that black and white anymore. There's plenty of opportunities after this initial 53 man cutdown.

- Veterans left off the week 1 roster so that their salary isn't guaranteed.
- 640 players of all stripes (veterans, draft picks, UDFA) going to practice squads
- Some players cut Tuesday will be picked up on other teams
- Players now have opportunities in the XFL and USFL next spring
- There's always next year after any of the above.

So, while sure there will be a subset of players that will in fact be sitting next to us in the stands, those that are close will just have their journey deferred, not ended.
