I read that sales of used Bugattis have increased due to this requirement. Crazy.

Crazy money in this old world. Your story reminds me of where I have my boat stored. Like a good soldier I put my name on the wait list waiting for a slot to open up. I would see these new boats show up on the lake and immediately go into a storage slot. I asked about it and the guy working the dock said the new owners go and find a boat already in storage...offer a ridiculous amount of money to buy the boat and then just stick the new boat in the slot. Basically throw or give away the older boat they bought. I finally got into my spot...now just hoping some crazy rich dude needs it real bad.
 
No it didn't. If the Ninja ZX-14 has a 0-60 time of 2.5 then I can't see your 750 matching that.

The ninja was heavy and slow. The turbo was fast in a straight line, but awkward and heavy to race and too extreme when it hit boost laid over in a turn I'm sure especially with the boost up.

In 1988 I raced 86 model Honda VRF750s modified with HRC components that dropped it down 20-30# lighter than the 750 Ninja with 30 more HP and it was a 2.6 second 0-60 ride. With the weight of the V motor right down behind the front wheel, it was much easier to launch and avoid lifting the front wheel too much and there was never a Ninja that was as fast until the 1000s.

In club races, those RC30 version VFRs beat everything in straight line speeds, dominated the heavy 1000 Ninjas and unless you were on a very tight track that favored the GSXRs they were damn near impossible to beat.

The Turbo was like nothing I've driven before or since. When that boost pressure gauge moved rapidly to the right, it would give you all you had to hold the front wheel down. I had to lean most of my 180+ forward onto the bars and scrunch down behind the fairing to keep her pinned to the road. With the increased boost, the larger rear sprocket, and a 180 Avon SuperVenom on the rear, she jumped like ya put 40,000 volts through her. At the time (late 80's) there was nothing with 4 wheels even in the ballpark. Kawasaki built the strongest engine casings in the business for the GPZ 750 Turbo and the ZL1 900. These casings were used in drag racing for many moons.

I'd squeeze my knees against the gas tank, lean her over in the corners, and drag my foot on the ground during upshifts while I touched my left fingers to the pavement. I'd be high for 3 days afterward.

At the time (late 80's) there was nothing with 4 wheels even in the ballpark.

Edit: the 750 Turbo was also actually pretty comfortable on trips. I drove it many times to Baltimore, Annapolis, or DC which was 2-2 1/2 hours from my house. If you look at the bike, you could see by the seat profile that you have some leeway in sliding forward and backward to change positions. I use to lie down with my chest on the gas tank and feet draped over the rear pegs. It was much more comfortable than it sounds. For 3700.00 you couldn't go wrong unless it rained :)
