The Steel Curtain should have been named the Steroid Curtain (2 Viewers)

I don’t know if someone has sources or not. Not for me to judge. I will say though if you have sources or anyone else has sources please do not post until you’re pretty confident they’re correct. That’s why you don’t see legitimate news people put something out until they’ve confirmed it. Because they lose credibility. And if someone does have legit sources keeping them private is understandable but again don’t post what you don’t know.

I have an uncle who is neighbors with someone from the Saints front office. And they talk from time to time but I’ve really never posted anything because I don’t know if what I’m being told is true or not. And when I did hear something from my uncle on the Drew Brees contract being a formality And that Drew had already told the front office he wasn’t going to except any other offers and that he had instructed his agent to just get the deal done with the Saints I didn’t post anything. I won’t post anything because I didn’t hear it first hand . And to answer anybody’s questions no I don’t get any information from my uncle other than stuff probably already on the news for the most part or stuff that’s coming up pretty soon.

Well that’s my two cents

Which is about what it’s worth

Yep

Well. I guess this would explain why they were so dominant. Makes sense. The teams that discover new ways to cheat or gain some sort of shady upper hand usually have a lot of success. Look at the Bash Brothers Oakland A's. Those guys looked like a football team because the roids were flowing freely.

PEDs are never going away. Players will always be looking for some type of edge. I look around at some of the teams in the NFL and they have a bunch of freakish players. Makes me wonder if they have a program in place. Like those 49ers teams under Harbaugh. Those were some of the most physically freakish defenses I have ever seen. Even their DBs were big and ripped.

well said. Players are always looking for an edge and science is always a little ahead. And I’m sure other players were doing it just sounds like maybe they were the first team to systematically do it when it was legal .

which is why you dont post anything until the source validates and says ok its cool to report it.

us kicking the tires isnt the same as we bringing him out of retirement.

and truth be told, you posted your thread well after an initial thread went 20 pages on the same topic ( based off sources ). so it looks a wee desperate for the "lead".

Elf - This is a good source. He's a NO banker who has a number of Saints players and coaches as clients. He's been so right over the past 5-years it's scary. When I heard it from him, I got so pumped thinking about what he and Brees could do that after I did a thread search and found nothing with Calvin Johnson in the title, I jumped at posting. If I jacked-up some SR Who Dat emotions, I apologize!

Then when I heard the Pats were talking to the Lions about acquiring the rights to Johnson, I'm pretty sure my source had legit info.

Hey Drago - good post and thx. My initial reaction was just like your words above. The point made by the former trainer yesterday was at the time, it was not cheating or illegal and not many experts knew the long term negative effect of roids.

After Flash's post about the Raiders doing roids back in the 70s, I personally had an Ah-ha moment. The 3 dominant teams of that era: Steelers, Cowgirls and Raiders were the early adopters of Roids. Apparently our Saints were at a disadvantage of winning

EDIT: and to your point about PEDs, Pete says it is rampant in the NFL these days and that the players are almost forced into a Roids/HGH regime to just stay competitive and recover from injuries quickly. He's also said that with the NFL rules today that a player has to be really dumb to get caught.

I really respect your point of view a lot. I happen to feel different when it comes to SR. If someone has a decent source and gets possible inside scoop, I want to hear that asap. I truly respect your classiness in these type matters.

Roids or not, that Steelers team that beat the Cowboys in Super Bowl XIII was the best team I have witnessed in my lifetime. The Cowboy team that they beat might be the second best team, ever and that is very difficult for me to admit.

Anybody can make anything up. Like the Calvin Johnson coming out of retirement to play with the Saints. Go ahead and buy your tickets to Atlanta?? Means nothing without something to validate it like a link. Please don't bother to post stuff like that unless there is something to back it up.
