Jordan is a very good pick. Now I hope we can trade back into the bottom of the first or top of the second for Ingram.

As much chance of that as batman and robin taking up bc2 and the occasional attorney taking up Rift.

Lawyers aren't smart enough to play rift. They can't figure out how to use the Coin Lock and they can never figure out where you are supposed to bring the flux capacitor.

Did Widge call the Ingram move?

Clayborn is way uglier than me.

I didn't call it. But, I did say that I was hoping we would do it. I think the guy has a shot to be a very good every down back. He reminds me of Emmit Smith. Don't get me wrong, I don't really think he will be that good, but we should be set at the RB position for many years. I really like the fact that his Dad played in the NFL so he knows what it takes to be successful and the fact that he fell all the way to #28 so he should play with a serious chip on his shoulder. And, the really cool thing is that the exact same things can be said about Cameron Jordan. Well, not the Emmit Smith part.

I'm not enamored with trading away next year's 1st, but we have window to win with Brees and I think that means there are times when you have to mortgage the future a little bit in order to win now. I mean, the 49ers did it to get Jerry Rice while Montana was in his prime so sometimes it does make sense. And, given how loaded our roster is and the fact that the positions that we could upgrade are positions that you can get int he mid rounds (LB, SS, line depth) losing that first might not end up being a huge loss.

Edit: And, yeah, Clayborn is way uglier than you.

We didn't trade away next year's number one. We just used it this year.

2011 #1 - Cameron Jordan
2012 #1 - Mark Ingram

All we gave away is this year's #2.

I understand that you can look at it that way and to some extent I do, but we still mortgaged the future for the present to some extent. I mean, if it turns out that we have a major hole at OT or some other position next year and we don't have a 1st round pick to fill it, we really aren't going to be thinking about it that way. I think it was the right move, assuming that Ingram produces and we have a successful season, but if Ingram does not produce the way I think and the team thinks he will and/or that #1 ends up being a top 10 or top 15 pick, we are not going to be happy. But, that's why they pay Loomis and Payton the big bucks to make those decision. And, success does favor the bold.

widge trying to take all of the awesomeness out of the draft.

this is why the world hates lawyers.
