There may be concerns about Kellen Moore’s ability to lead [mod edit] (30 Viewers)

Forgive me for not buying that the guy who led a team to a 50-3 record and later in his career walked into a toxic, near collapsing situation in Philly and saved the team can’t “lead.”

Yeah, strong leadership can take on different appearances. Some of the game’s great coaches and quarterbacks have been calm and methodical.

Hell, we used to talk about how focused and determined Drew was in contrast to Brady throwing tablets and having meltdowns on the sidelines.

It’s never been true that there’s only one way to lead.

Gayle needs to restructure the front office. Hire Rizzi and use him as a bridge and let him know this up front unless he wows Ms. B and the fandom. Go from there if all this is true to a degree.
Wait. His OC is gone. Who do you trust him to find At this point? In McCarthy and Moore you had built-in OCs.

Just went and read the article. Kafka got the longest excerpt and he confirmed what I saw in the vids of him coaching last years senior bowl.

He had a presence, is detailed, and he said the right things w/ regards to motivation. He’s a leader, and I like his philosophy of attacking on offense.

I listened to another interview and he wants to push the ball downfield. My only question w/ that is would we have the oline to do it. With that being said, big plays = an excited crowd in the dome and I think that philosophy matches what NO fanbase has come to expect from an offense.

Meanwhile, I read somewhere else he’d bring in Don Martindale, who’s scheme is blitz heavy, something we haven’t seen around these parts since 3G but again, something I think would take advantage of the environment in the dome.

Biggest ? Is, can Kafka design a good offense if he calls plays but I don’t worry about if he’s a leader. Bonus that Mahomes spoke highly of him w/ regards to development.

Moore is almost the complete opposite. Scheme/playcalling is great but in one interview I watched his body language is a little closed. Kafka tends to have his shoulders back and chest open, more inviting. However I’ve only watched one Moore interview so I need to research a bit more

I saw that about Kafka and knew you would like it. I think my biggest concern about Kafka is that he was apparently forced to run Diabol's system in NY so I don't know if he can actually design an offense, install it, and call plays. But it does appear he has the leadership skills necessary.

I had made other comments and maybe not in this thread. I dont remember but yeah exactly. I think the same way, Its all FUBAR.

Its getting to where I dont care what they do because nothing will be right with this front office. Just my opinion.

The delusion in here is incredible. Moore is NOT him. How he played in college has no baring on his ability to be a head coach. We need to stop acting like he pulled some miracle in Philly with the roster they have and Saquan having an all time season. It’s foolish. He went into a good situation loaded with talent, when he hasn’t had talent he’s failed every time. Leaders elevate those around them, sorry I’m not convinced in Moore and I would love to be wrong about it and see him take saints to a superbowl but I am very very sure he doesn’t have the chops to do it.

With reports just now that MM is out. It’s got to be Kafka.

Like any other coach would fair.

Sounds like we are going to be heavy on offense in this draft and free agency.

People could have said the exact same thing about Sean Payton.

This is going to be a multi-year rebuild, whoever they select as coach. I'd rather have a young guy who's offensively minded that can grow with the team, as opposed to a retread.
